This is my blog on all things knitting and I just know the kitties are going to pop up every now and again, so I'll just warn people to begin with!

This and That + Down With Cotton...
Have a new project to get cracking at: my pen-pal Aisling is expecting a baby in September! Yeah! More baby things to knit! (Her little girl is 2) As she has already done a layette I'm thinking maybe a toy or maybe a little Aran; I can do up one of those fairly quickly.
In anticipation of the fall birthdays I've decided David's getting the cabled hat out of "Cables Untangled" in the cocoa colored wool I'd originally planned to use for Monique's capelet.
Oh wait, the capelet! She LOVED it! Yeah! Another successful gifty! I love giftys; they don't take a lot of time but people go ga-ga over them.
That's it for today.

P.S. Does anyone else find it annoying that everything seems to be going to cotton yarns? Seriously, cotton has no give, is often heavier than the same thing knit in wool and yet it's promoted as "summer weight"! Cotton is the enemy! Cotton is sore hands unable to knit for days at a time. Cotton is droopy, yucky knits. But cotton is everywhere. Hmmm... My sheepy friends and I will have to figure something out...

Sheepy Alphabet Update
Here's where I'm at with the little sheepys. Where the initials are is the start of the hedge. Even managed to get some of the flowers done!

Out & About
Here's Maureen down at the Kiwanis Waterfall Park on Sunday morning. I wound up with sunburnt shoulders but we fun. Even stopped for icecream at Dessart on the way home.

This, That and T'Other
Socks for contest are progressing. Got into GW last Saturday and found a ball of Opal that I really liked the colors in. Quite a bit of orange, so very Nat-ish. Still find it odd that Opal isn't one of the yarns sponsered in the contest. Opal is one of the largest purveyors of sock yarns in the world; one would have thought. Oh well. GW doesn't actually carry any of the sponsered yarns; I thought they had Regia.
Hoping to get a few more letters/sheep done on the alphabet this looong weekend. (And, I get an extra day as it would have been my Monday off anyway: Yeah! 4 day weekend!)
Plan on taking Maureen for a walk tomorrow AM before it gets too warm. Perhaps to the Waterfall Park; it's quite nice down there.
That's it for today! Remember I like comments; they are encouraged. I feel like I'm talking to myself here...

My Sheep Alphabet (WIP)
Here's where I'm at with my Sheep Alphabet. There will be a "hedge" border around the letters when complete, as well as little flowers between them.
Meet Siobhan C. (yes there are 2 Siobhans...)
This is Siobhan C., as all good Irish Dance classes should have multiple Siobhans present. She lives with Sarah. By her dress she's ready for any feis or hooley that comes around! Just like Sarah; always ready to par-tay!
Prairie Gael School of Irish Dance Adult (Advanced) Class Photo
Here's our class. Aren't we a bunch of dolls?! (I know, sick joke. Had to.)
Here's our line-up:
Back Row (L to R): Cathleen, David, Elsa, Monique
Front Row (L to R) : Niamh, Siobhan C., Bridget, Siobhan Q.

During the Walk
Here's Maureen at the Walk rest stop behind the Sask. Natural History Museum. We're out of the wind, finally!
To the Walk
Here's Maureen getting ready to go on her adventure at the MS SuperCities Walk here in Regina on April 27. She really loves her carrier.

Capelets. Cats on Walks. Contest Socks.
Maureen and I participated in the MS SuperCities Walk last Sunday. If the wind had been less, it would have been nice. I have 2 pics of her to post: one before we left the house and one at the last rest-stop. Will get those up soon.
That's where I'm at this week!
