So here it is: Andi's hat! All ready for the exchange. Turned out very GBS I think. There's the anchor and the sides have rope cables to signify... well, ropes. I think she'll like it.
This is my blog on all things knitting and I just know the kitties are going to pop up every now and again, so I'll just warn people to begin with!

Shannon's Capelet - view 2
So here's the detail of the edging. I used the "Domovoi Edging" from Cheryl Oberle's shawl of that name in the book "Folk Shawls". I thought Shannon could use a little Russian house-elf help...
Shannon's Capelet - view 1
So here it is, the red capelet. This is the large view. I used a "flower" from Elspeth Lavold's "Fibonacci Flowers" sweater (Knitter's Mag Summer '08?) There's a detail of the edging to follow. She really liked it. So did Nat and Bernie. More on that after I fix the other pic...

Well...
Am progressing well on H's gifty. Shannon's will be delivered on Tuesday at class. Nat finally showed up to get hers. She loved it. Wouldn't quit modeling it. Very funny; Nat attempting to dance with hat on. Ya had to be there.
GBS concert is a mere 28 days, 5 hours & 58 minutes away!! I ordered a shirt today so I will be properly attired. One must be properly attired for a GBS concert. It's a life altering event after all.
Have joined a gifty exchange on the GBS forums, so not sure yet who I've got and wether there's time to knit them a gifty or am I stuck buying a gifty. Depends on where they live. If they're in Canada or the US I should have time to knit it before sending. If in Europe or somewhere else, unfortunately, probably not. But I'm getting good progress on H's gifty so maybe I could whip up a hat like David's... It went quick... Must ponder the possibilities...

A Reaction...
David got his hat and absolutely loves it! Such a great feeling when people like their giftys. Nat still hasn't received hers. And Monique says she's had lots of compliments on her capelet at work. (She wears it there because of over-active air conditioning) Yeah!
Am just over half done the first section of Heather's gifty. As long as the yarn behaves, it'll be done on time. That reminds me: gotta get a card for Em as well...

Been a bit...
Oops! Ah well. Have made some progress. Finished the prototype of my contest sox, and am nearly finished the first of the pair.
After Mom and I struggled to get the 2nd ball wound, Shannon's birthday present is finished. I used Red Heart Soft Touch, which I've used for several projects. The 1st ball was fine. It took the 2 of us nearly 3weeks to get the damn thing untangled!!! Horrible! Then yesterday I went to Wal-Mart to pick up buttons and they've pretty well taken out the entire crafts section at the Southland Mall location. The button selection is almost non-existent; all the fabric is gone. It's really bizzare. Stopped at Golden Willow today though, so got buttons for both Shannon and Heather's giftys.
Speaking of giftys: Have to wait to get Nat's and David's responses to their hats, as they were both absent from class the week of the their birthdays and this week. I left David's parcel at the studio since I know he had to come in on Thursday to teach. Hopefully, Nat will be there this week.
In really exciting news we're only 42 days, 5hours, 21minutes away from the doors opening for Great Big Sea at the Centre of the Arts!!!!!!!
Tonight's excitement: we (S, H & me) are going to Globe Theatre's production of "Midsummer's Night Dream"; it got really fabulous reviews in the paper. It's a favorite of all of us. And I'm wearing my vest so colorful and other-worldly I shall be.

Sweater for Aisling's Baby is Done!
Sewed the buttons on and ran in the ends this morning. Already in the mail and on its way to Ireland. Turned out quite cute, I think. So I guess I've had a dab of progress. Now to find enough time to get Shannon's and Heather's birthday presents done too...
